Jerry Biggs

Jerry Biggs
grew up in Clarinda, Iowa. He received his undergraduate degree from
Princeton University (A.B. cum
laude 1968). Following
graduation he served
as a Field Artillery officer in Korea
and a company commander at Fort Polk, LA. His decorations include
the Army Commendation Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the
Korean Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Service Medal. After teaching
school and working in his
father’s insurance agency, Jerry graduated from the University of
Iowa Law
School and began practicing law in 1977. He is fluent in Spanish
and French.
His legal experience includes almost 14 years as
Prosecuting Attorney in Iowa
and in
Andrew County,
Missouri. During that time, only two
jury trials resulted in acquittals. Jerry
prosecuted approximately fifteen homicide
cases in Andrew County,
including several cases of
first degree murder. All resulted in
convictions. None were overturned on
appeal.
Jerry is assisted in his office by his
delightful wife
Galina, a native of St Petersburg, Russia,
and proud U.S.
citizen. Jerry is very active in Savannah. He’s served as an elder at First Presbyterian
Church and is a past president of Lions Club. He
is widely known for his willingness to listen,
his straight talk and
his dedication to his clients.
